Explain that Digi Locker is a digital wallet service provided by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Users can access their important documents like driving license, mark sheet and vehicle registration etc. As per the new rules, only after uploading the Citizen DigiLocker documents, the official website www. You will be able to complete the passport application process by visiting passportindia.gov.in.
This decision has been taken in view of the deficiencies found during physical document verification at PSKs. Actually, many mistakes related to wrong date of birth and personal were being seen during the process. The accuracy and authenticity of documents will be ensured through Digi Locker.
The Ministry of External Affairs said, “If an applicant uploads documents on DigiLocker, they will not be required to bring their original physical documents during the application process. The move is expected to bring efficiency in the passport application process. ,
