The pension of the pensioners of Rajasthan will now increase twice a year. The government will increase pension by five percent in the month of July and 10 percent in January. The reason for this increase in pension is the ‘Minimum Income Guarantee Act’. Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to implement this law. With the implementation of this law, the pension of state employees will increase twice a year.
Employees salary will increase twice
With the implementation of ‘Minimum Income Guarantee Act’, social security pension will also be guaranteed in Rajasthan. The government told that the salary of the employees will be increased twice a year. There will be an increase in pension only after one year of taking pension. That is, the day the pension is approved, only after one year it will be increased by 15 percent.
Social security pension will also increase
It will be mandatory to increase social security pension by 15 percent every year. Through this, the pension of all categories including elderly, widow, disabled can be increased by 15 percent. The government has said that a minimum pension of Rs 1000 will be given to the needy. Under the Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme, the government has talked about giving pension of at least one thousand rupees a month to elderly, widows and single women. The base amount of increase in pension will be Rs.1000. On this basis, the government will increase the pension.
Government made provision of additional budget
The government has made provision of an additional budget of Rs 2500 crore for this scheme. An Advisory Board has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to monitor the minimum income guarantee. This board will monitor the scheme from time to time. In this there will be Rural Development Panchayati Raj Secretary, Social Justice Empowerment Department Secretary, Planning Department Secretary, Finance Department Secretary, Self Government Department Secretary etc.
Guaranteed employment for 125 days
Rajasthan has become the first state to pass the Minimum Income Guarantee Bill in the Legislative Assembly. In addition to the 100 days of MNREGA, 25 days of employment will be guaranteed in the state. Earlier, work was available for 100 days in a year under MNREGA and Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme. Now it has been extended by an additional 25 days.
