Permission granted to remove Grape 4 in Delhi-NCR, offline classes resume in schools

Delhi GRAP-4 News: GRAP-4 implemented in Delhi-NCR has now been removed. SC issued an order to remove GRAP-4 after the hearing. Apart from this, offline classes will start again in all government and private schools.

Delhi GRAP-4 Restrictions: The Directorate of Education (DOE) on Thursday (December 4) issued a circular announcing the resumption of offline classes in all government and private schools in Delhi. The circular states that all government, government-aided and recognized private schools under the Directorate of Education, NDMC, MCD and Delhi Cantonment Board are required to conduct all classes offline with immediate effect.

In fact, on the 17th of last month, due to the air quality index being in the ‘severe’ category in the national capital, all classes except class 10th and 12th were being conducted online. However, on November 18, classes of class 10th and 12th were also made online. Apart from this, Grape-4 applicable in Delhi-NCR has now been removed. The Supreme Court has issued an order to remove Grape-4 after the hearing.

Supreme Court ordered to remove Grape-4

ASG Bhati on behalf of CAQM said, AQI is going down, but it depends on the weather. The downgrading is happening from November 29. Let us tell you that after facing continuous air pollution in the city for the last one month, Delhi’s air quality has now improved. The Supreme Court said that considering the data, we do not think it would be appropriate to allow the Commission to go below Graap 2 at this stage.

Further monitoring by the court is necessary. Although we allow the commission to implement GRAP 2, it would be appropriate that it includes additional measures of GRAP 3 in it. We have to record here that if it is found that the AQI goes above 350, then as a precaution, GRAP 3 will have to be implemented immediately. If the AQI crosses 400 someday, then GRAP 4 should be implemented again.

Let us tell you that under GRAP-4, the entry of commercial trucks in Delhi was banned. Medium and heavy vehicles running on diesel have also been banned, but now after the removal of GRAP-4, all these restrictions have also been removed.
