Petrol Price Today 07 June 2021: Petrol and diesel prices at new record high, petrol in Mumbai crosses Rs 101

Petrol Price 07 June 2021 Update: In June, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased 4 times so far. Petrol in Mumbai has crossed Rs 101. Gradually, diesel has also increased by Rs 100. Crude oil prices are beyond $72, that is, the inflation of oil prices is not going to stop even further.




Petrol Price 07 June 2021 Update: Petrol diesel prices have broken all the records so far. Petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 in 135 districts of the country. Talking about this year only, petrol prices have increased by about 13 percent so far. Today petrol has become costlier by 26-31 paise per liter, while the price of diesel has increased by 26-28 paise per liter. Crude oil is trading above $ 72 per barrel in the international market, due to which there is a possibility of further increase in prices.

Prices increased for the fourth time in June
The rate of petrol in Mumbai has crossed Rs 101 per liter. While diesel has reached close to Rs 94. So far in June, the price has increased 4 times. Prior to this, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased 16 times in the month of May. Petrol-diesel prices were increased for 4 consecutive days from May 4, while due to elections, there was peace in petrol and diesel prices for the first 18 days. In the entire month of May, the rate of petrol in Delhi has become costlier by Rs 4.09. While diesel has become costlier by Rs 4.68 this month.

Petrol-diesel became cheaper in March, April
Common people got some relief from expensive petrol and diesel on 15 April. Petrol and diesel prices were cut thrice in April and in the month of March. The last change in the prices of petrol and diesel before 15 April was on 30 March 2021. Then petrol was 22 paise and diesel 23 paise cheaper in Delhi. In March, petrol became cheaper by 61 paise and diesel by 60 paise. The biggest reason for the reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel 3 times in the month of March was the weakness of crude oil in the global market.

Petrol reached Rs 101 in Mumbai!
Petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 95.31 per liter today. In other cities like Mumbai petrol is Rs 101.52, in Kolkata petrol is Rs 95.28. And in Chennai, petrol is being sold at Rs 96.71.

Petrol becomes costlier by about Rs 12 in 2021

So far in the year 2021, oil prices have been increased 46 times. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 11.60 per liter during this period. On January 1, the price of petrol was Rs 83.71, today it is Rs 95.31 per liter. Similarly, diesel has become costlier by Rs 12.35 per liter in Delhi from January 1 till today. On January 1, the price of diesel in Delhi was Rs 73.87 per liter, today it is Rs 86.22.

After petrol, now let us take a look at the prices of diesel today. Diesel in Mumbai is Rs 93.58. Diesel is being sold at Rs 86.22 per liter in Delhi. Diesel is being sold in Kolkata at Rs 89.07 and in Chennai the rate of diesel is Rs 90.92.

Central and state governments charge heavy taxes
Central excise and state taxes account for 60 percent of the price of petrol, while it is 54 percent in diesel. Central excise duty on petrol is Rs 32.90 per liter, while that on diesel is Rs 31.80 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices usually change daily, based on benchmark international crude prices and foreign exchange rates.
