Platform Ticket Hike: Big News! Platform ticket price increased by Rs 20, railways tweeted information – details

Southern Railway Platform Ticket Hike: The Chennai Division of Southern Railway has increased the fare of platform tickets. This information was given by the Chennai Division of Southern Railways in a tweet. So if you also go to your relatives to receive or drop the station, then this time you may have to loosen your pocket.

Southern Railway tweeted information

Southern Railway tweeted that platform ticket prices are being doubled. Earlier, where you used to get a ticket for 10 rupees, now you will have to spend 20 rupees for it. It has been told by the Railways that this has been done to reduce the overcrowding during festivals.

Tickets will be available at the old rate from February 1

In a tweet on behalf of Southern Railway, it was also informed that the platform ticket fare has been increased from Rs 10 per person to Rs 20 per person from October 1 to January 31, 2023, in order to avoid overcrowding during the festival. The new price will be effective from 1 October 2022 and will be effective till 31 January 2023. That is, after the completion of the festive season by January 31, platform tickets will be available from February 1 at the old rate of Rs 10 only.

New rates will be applicable at eight stations

The increase in platform tickets by Southern Railway will be applicable at eight major stations of Chennai division. These stations include Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Katpadi, Changalpattu, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Avadi.

Prices are increased on many occasions

Platform ticket prices are increased on many occasions by the railways. Apart from this, every time on the occasion of festivals, prices are increased in different zones.
