Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has emphasized on increasing the income of the government in the budget of financial year 2021-22. The government currently provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to farmers registered under PM Kisan Yojana. This amount is sent to farmers’ accounts in installments of Rs 2000 at an interval of every four months.

Keeping in mind the interest of the farmers, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to the farmers in the year 2018. So far seven installments of this scheme have been released. In the financial year 2021-22, the central government announced an allocation of Rs 75,000 crore for PM Kisan Yojana. This allotted amount has not been spent in the current financial year. The Ministry of Agriculture has been able to spend less than Rs 65,000 crore in the current financial year.
