Now Kisan Credit Card has also been linked to PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Under this scheme, farmers can avail agricultural loans at very cheap rates.
New Delhi: The seventh installment of PM Kisan Yojana has been released recently. The central government can also increase the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi, which is provided annually to farmers in the budget of financial year 2021-22. A few days ago, the government has linked the Kisan Credit Card Scheme to PM Kisan Yojana. So far, around 1.5 crore farmers have been provided with Kisan Credit Card. Since the month of February 2020, the central government is running a special campaign to give farmers credit cards to the farmers who are taking advantage of PM Kisan Yojana. How to apply:
After linking the Kisan Credit Card with PM Kisan Yojana, the Modi Government of the Center had announced the issuance of Kisan Credit Card to 2.5 crore farmers. So far, 1.5 crore farmers have been given Kisan Credit Cards. Under this scheme, a target has been set to provide 2 lakh crore rupees as farmer loan.
Under PM Kisan Yojana, it is very easy to apply for Kisan Credit Card for the beneficiaries receiving financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually. The biometric process of farmers registered under PM Kisan Yojana has already been completed. The details of their farm land, bank details, information related to Aadhar card are already registered in the Ministry of Agriculture. In this context, farmers will have to fill a common form to get a Kisan Credit Card and they will be able to get the benefit of this scheme.
Not even running for KYC
After linking PM Kisan Yojana with the Kisan Credit Card, there is no need to provide KYC to the farmers. Now farmers have to fill only one page form to get a Kisan Credit Card. This form can be downloaded from the pmkisan.gov.in website.
Things to keep in mind
The minimum age of the farmer applying for Kisan Credit Card should be 18 years and maximum age of 75 years. Applicants above 60 years of age will also need a co-applicant to apply.
Under the Kisan Credit Card, a farmer can get a loan of up to three lakh rupees for farming. This amount will be paid to the farmer with an interest rate of 4 percent.
In addition to farmers, those who do animal husbandry, fisheries can also apply for agricultural loans under the Kisan Credit Card. It is also not compulsory for the applicant to have agricultural land.
Animal husbandry or fisheries can avail a loan of up to two lakh rupees at an interest rate of 4 percent.
