PM Modi inaugurates Kochi-Mangaluru gas pipeline, says- Target to open 10,000 CNG stations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday dedicated the Kochi-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline to the country through video conferencing.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Kochi-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline. PM Modi dedicated the gas pipeline to the country through video conferencing. This 450 km long pipeline has been constructed by GAIL (India) Limited. During this time, the Governor and Chief Minister of Karnataka and Kerala were present in the program along with the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.




Work together, no goal is difficult’

Inauguration address to the Prime Minister ( Narendra Modi is honored to dedicate) said, “The nation this 450 km Kochi-Mangalore gas pipeline. I congratulate the people and all stakeholders for taking steps to provide clean energy infrastructure. The Kochi-Mangaluru pipeline is a great example of this that if everyone works together by giving priority to development, no goal is difficult.

Plan to open 10,000 CNG stations across the country

PM Modi said, ‘India’s first CNG station was started in the year 1992. In 22 years, till 2014, there were only 900 CNG stations across the country. In the last six years, around 1500 new CNG stations have been started. The government is working to take this number to 10 thousand.

PM Modi mentioned 10 benefits

While addressing the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ( Narendra Modi ) gave information about 10 benefits of Kochi-Mangaluru gas pipeline. He said, ‘This is a pipeline to say, but it is going to play a very big role in accelerating the development of both the states. There were many problems in this project, but with the cooperation of our workers, engineers, farmers and state governments, this work was completed.

These 10 big benefits will be from the pipeline

1. This pipeline will increase the ease of living for millions of people in both the states.

2. This pipeline will reduce the expenses of the poor, middle class and entrepreneurs of both the states.

3. These pipeline will be the medium of city gas distribution system in cities.

4. It will become a medium to develop CNG based transport system in many cities.

5. It will give energy to Mangalore Chemical and Fertilizer Plant, will help in making manure at low cost.

6. This pipeline will provide energy, clean fuel to Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals.

7. It will reduce pollution in both the states.

8. The direct impact of reducing pollution will be on the environment.

9. People’s health will be good due to better environment.

10. When pollution is low, cities will have gas based service, then tourism will also get a boost.

’14 million new LPG connections given in 6 years’




PM Modi ( Narendra Modi ) said, ‘As of 2014 there were only 25 lakh PNG connections in our country. Today, gas is reaching the pipeline of kitchens of more than 72 lakh houses in the country. 21 lakh new people will be able to avail the PNG service from the Kochi-Mangalore pipeline. He further said, ‘We all know what was the situation of LPG coverage in India for a long time. Till 2014, where 14 crore LPG connections were in the country, in the last 6 years, the same number of new connections have been given. Cooking gas has reached the homes of more than 8 crore families in the country through the scheme like Ujjwala scheme. Also, the infrastructure related to LPG has also strengthened in the country.
