Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin to more than 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura on Sunday (November 14) through video conferencing. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office ie PMO, it was said that on this occasion more than 700 crore rupees will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of these beneficiaries. The PMO also informed that after the intervention of the Prime Minister and keeping in view the unique geo-climatic situation of Tripura, the definition of ‘kutcha’ house for the state has been specifically changed.

Change in definition of ‘kutcha’ house for Tripura
The PMO also pointed out that after the intervention of the Prime Minister and keeping in view the unique geo-climatic condition of Tripura, the definition of ‘kutcha’ house for the state has been specifically changed, which has allowed so many people living in a kutcha house. A large number of beneficiaries have been able to get help to ‘Pucca’ their house.

Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Dev will also be present during the program.

It is worth noting that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin is one of the ambitious schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective of PMAY-G scheme is to provide homes to the homeless people. Under this scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh is provided to the families below the poverty line to build houses.
