It is worth noting that a few days ago Nusrat had said that her marriage with businessman Nikhil Jain is not legal but a live-in relationship as their marriage in Turkey is not recognized as per Indian law. She was living separately from Nikhil for a long time.
Nusrat Jahan married Jain in Turkey in 2019, which was attended by a select few. Jahan, who won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on a TMC ticket, later organized a grand wedding ceremony at a five-star hotel in Kolkata, which was attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries.
