Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first world leader to reach 100 million followers on Instagram. This social media figure demonstrates his global digital following. PM Modi joined the Meta-owned platform in 2014. Now, PM Modi’s following has more than doubled that of US President Donald Trump, who has approximately 43.2 million followers on Instagram. Let’s take a look at other world leaders who have more followers than PM Modi.
PM Modi leads the list of world leaders with the most followers on Instagram, with a total of 100 million followers. US President Donald Trump is second with 43.2 million followers. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is third with 15 million followers, while Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is fourth with 14.4 million followers. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan ranks fifth with 11.6 million followers. He is followed by Argentine President Javier Melania, who has 6.4 million followers. It’s worth noting that the combined followers of these five leaders are less than PM Modi’s single following.
In India, there’s a significant gap between PM Modi and other leaders’ Instagram followers. PM Modi is followed by Home Minister Amit Shah, who has 29.7 million followers. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is next with 16 million followers, while Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has approximately 12.6 million followers. Hyderabad Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi has 11.9 million followers. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, has 4.7 million followers. In Rajasthan, MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati from the Shiv Assembly constituency has 3 million followers. Even if the total number of followers of these five leaders in the country were added together, it would still be less than that of PM Modi. This means that even in India, PM Modi leads the nation by a significant amount on Instagram.
