Private School Fee Hike: LKG annual fees increased by Rs 12 thousand, parents worried

The problems of parents sending their children to private nursery schools are going to increase further. Will have to bear the brunt of school fee increase from the new academic session. Many schools have implemented revised fee structure for the new session.

School Fee Hike 2024: With the start of the new academic session, the burden of education on the pockets of parents has started increasing. Like every year, private schools have increased the fees this time too. If we look at the revised fees of major private schools of the city, an average increase of four to six hundred rupees has been made every month. The household budget has deteriorated due to increase in the prices of copy-books, uniforms etc. as compared to last year.

Last year, the annual fee for classes one to eight in Maharishi Patanjali Vidya Mandir was Rs 60920. Parents had to pay an installment of Rs 15230 every three months. This year, the fees for classes one to eight has been increased to Rs 67400, which means parents will have to pay an installment of Rs 16850 every three months. In the last session, the annual fee for classes 9 and 10 was Rs 64120, which has increased to Rs 70920 this time.

In St. Joseph’s College, the fees from LKG to Class V have increased by Rs 12,000 annually in five years. In the 2020-21 session, the annual fee for children from LKG to 5 was Rs 37010, which has increased to Rs 49032 in this session. There has been an increase of Rs 12022 in five years. Similarly, the fee for classes six to ten has been increased from Rs 40742 to Rs 53968. Central Academy Jhunsi has also increased the annual fees by Rs 5150. In the last session, five installments of Rs 5150 were taken in a year from children of classes one to three. From this year, six installments of Rs 5150 will have to be paid. That means the fees have increased by Rs 5150. That means the fees have increased by Rs 429 per month. Tagore Public School has also increased the fees by about five rupees per month.

State President of Parents Unity Committee, Vijay Gupta, Private schools have increased the fees without consulting the parents. The increase in fees is an additional burden for parents who are troubled by changing books and uniforms every year. Soon a delegation of parents will meet the District School Inspector on this issue.
