School Holidays 2026: Schools and offices may have 50 holidays next year, i.e., in 2026. However, nine holidays have been reduced next year.
School Holidays 2026: The year 2025 is just two months away. The new year will begin in January 2026. Next year, government employees will receive 31 public holidays and 19 optional holidays. This means a total of 50 holidays. This holiday calendar has been released by the General Administration Department. Employees will be able to choose only two of their 19 optional holidays.
Next year, there will be 12 weeks in which employees will receive three holidays. Nine holidays have been reduced due to several festivals falling on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition to these holidays, the collector will be able to declare two public holidays per year in their district. The Finance Department issues a separate holiday calendar for bank employees.
Holidays for Makar Sankranti and Basant Panchami
In January 2026, Makar Sankranti/Magh Bihu/Pongal will be celebrated on the 14th. Basant Panchami will be celebrated on January 23rd. Additionally, January 26th is a public holiday. In February, Guru Ravidas Jayanti is celebrated on the 1st, Mahashivratri on the 15th, Swami Dayananda Saraswati Jayanti on the 12th, and Shivaji Jayanti on the 19th.
Holi and Diwali Holidays
Next year, Holika Dahan will be on March 2nd and Dhulandi on March 3rd. This means that the holiday will be on March 3rd. In addition, there are holidays for Ramdev Jayanti and Teja Dashami on September 21st, Durgashtami on October 19th, Diwali on November 8th, and Govardhan Puja on November 9th.
