Services such as cash deposits, withdrawals, and cheque clearance will not be available. Banks will remain closed today in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Telangana, Tripura, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
On the other hand, there will be no official work conducted in government offices either. Both Central and State government offices will remain closed. Additionally, post offices, courts, PSUs, schools, colleges, and Indian embassies will remain closed.
The stock market will also remain closed today. It is closed on account of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti. Trading will be completely suspended on both the BSE and NSE exchanges today. There will be no trading in equities, derivatives, currencies, securities lending, or Electronic Gold Receipts. The markets will resume trading at their regular hours starting tomorrow—April 15.
