2026 Holiday Calendar: Government school holiday calendar for 2026 released, 65 holidays excluding Sundays

The 2026 holiday calendar for government schools in Muzaffarpur has been released. This year, schools will be closed for 65 days, excluding Sundays. Diwali and Chhath Puja will be the most common holidays, with a maximum of 10 days. Summer vacations will be 20 days, and winter vacations will be 7 days, during which children will receive homework. The Education Department has released this annual holiday schedule for all types of schools.

Public holiday calendar 2026: In the new year, government schools will have 65 holidays, excluding Sundays. In 2026, the maximum number of holidays will be for Diwali and Chhath Puja, with 10 days.

According to the calendar released by the Secondary Education Department, there will be six days off for Durga Puja, two days for Holi, and one day off each for Rakshabandhan, Ramnavami, and Basant Panchami.

The Education Department has released the annual holiday calendar for government, state-run, nationalized, project, higher elementary, secondary, and higher secondary schools (Sanskrit schools, Urdu schools, and madrasas).

Government schools will have 75 days off, including Sundays. Of these, three or four holidays will be holidays during which teachers will be required to attend school due to birth anniversaries.

Summer vacations will be 20 days, while winter vacations will be seven days. All children should be assigned homework during these holidays.

Veer Kunwar Singh Jayanti: April 23

Summer Vacation: June 1 to June 20 (total 20 days, two Sundays) (Included)

Muharram: June 27

Kabir Jayanti: June 29

Chehlum: August 4

Independence Day: August 15

Diwali-Chhath Holidays: November 7 to November 17 (total 10 days including Diwali, Chitragupta Puja, and Chhath)

Guru Nanak Jayanti: November 24

Winter Holidays: December 25 to December 31 (total 7 days)

Dates of Muslim festivals may change depending on the sighting of the moon.
