Jalandhar News: Manmohan Singh committed suicide along with his family members in Adampur town of Jalandhar. Police have sealed the crime scene. Post mortem of the dead will be done today.
Punjab News: A case of dead bodies of 5 people has come to light in Adampur town of Jalandhar, Punjab. The news of death of 5 people has spread panic in the town. All the people who died belong to the same family. Among those who died, 55-year-old Manmohan Singh, resident of Droli Khurd village of Adampur, included his wife Sarabjit Kaur, elder daughter Prabhjot Kaur alias Jyoti, younger daughter Gurpreet Kaur alias Gopi and Prabhjot Kaur’s daughter Aman. Troubled by debt, Manmohan Singh committed suicide along with his family. Post mortem of all the dead bodies will be done today on Monday.
Manmohan Singh was on the post of postmaster.
Manmohan Singh, resident of village Droli Khurd, used to work as postmaster in Adampur post office. It is being told that some people of the village were harassing him regarding loan. There are marks of strangulation on everyone’s neck. There is a mark of a noose on Manmohan Singh’s neck. The police is busy investigating from all angles.
When the son-in-law reached home, he came to know about the death.
When Prabhjot Kaur alias Jyoti did not pick up her husband Sarabjit’s call, Sarabjit reached her in-laws’ house on Sunday night. When no one opened the door even after knocking for a long time, Sarabjit broke the door with the help of neighbors and entered inside the house. There he saw that his father-in-law Manmohan Singh was hanging and the rest of the people were lying unconscious. After this the neighbors informed the police. Police reached the spot at around 9 pm on Sunday night. Manmohan Singh’s neighbors told that no member of the family came out of the house since Saturday night. The doors of the house were locked from inside. When Manmohan’s son-in-law Sarabjit came, he got information about the entire incident.
Manmohan’s son lives in Australia
After the incident, Manmohan’s Charanpreet Singh was informed about the incident, he lives in Australia. Charanpreet had gone to Australia about two years ago. Police have found a suicide note from Manmohan Singh in which debt has been cited as the reason for his death. Manmohan Singh has written that no one should be troubled after his death. The police have sealed the crime scene. Police have seized the suicide note which has also been sent for forensics. The suicide note will be examined by a handwriting expert. The police is also waiting for the post-mortem report to know how and at what time all five died.
