Railway News: There will be no appointment on these posts, due to this, railways abolished more than 12 thousand posts

IRCTC: Railway has abolished 12,000 posts in the last 5 years due to many issues including cutting its expenditure. Due to outsourcing and new technology, railways has eliminated more than 12 thousand posts. That is, now no one will be reinstated on these posts. In many trains, many other works including electrical and mechanical technicians, coach assistants, onboard cleaning have been given on contract. There is no appointment on these posts. It is worth mentioning that where the railway has geared up to race on the track of modernity. At the same time, many posts have been abolished in the last 5 years.




The posts which have been abolished by the Railways include posts of both officers and employees. According to the figures, the posts of 14 officers and 63 posts of inspectors have been abolished by the Railways. On the other hand, regarding the abolition of the post, senior railway officials say that the process of abolishing the posts is being done on the basis of the performance of the railway employees.

Technological development reduced the need for manpower : These days, there has been a lot of technical development of the railways, which are colored in the color of modernity. Due to this, many posts have become such that now the Railways have no need. In such a situation, the Railways decided to close them. According to the data, between 2015 and 2021, 12 thousand posts have been abolished in all 16 zones of the railways.




Significantly, the Railways are trying to cut costs. At present, there are more than 13 lakh employees in Indian Railways. Most of the earnings that the railways earn is spent on the salaries and allowances of railway workers and other facilities. Along with this, technological development in railways has reduced the need for many posts.
