Railway Recruitment 2021: Southern Railway has released a total of 3322 vacancies of Trade Apprentices. These appointments will be done for various trades including Fitter, Welder, Painter. The last date for online application is 30 June 2021. There will be no exam and interview for this recruitment of apprentice. This recruitment will be done on the basis of marks obtained in class 10th and ITI course. Equal weightage will be given to both the marks. A merit will be made on the basis of these marks. Candidates will be selected on the basis of this merit. Interested candidates may apply online by visiting www.sr.indianrailways.gov.in. Keep in mind that candidates with diploma and degree cannot apply for this recruitment.
Only 10th-12th pass can also apply for apprenticeship in Fitter, Painter, Welder, Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology) category.
Qualification: Fitter, Painter, Welder
for Freshers –
10th class pass with at least 50% marks.
Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology) – 12th pass with at least 50% marks. It is necessary to have Physics, Chemist, Biology subjects in 12th.
For Ex-ITI candidates (for all posts)
10th pass with at least 50% marks from a recognized Institute or Board. And should have ITI certificate (recognized from NCVT) in relevant trade.
Age Limit
– Minimum age limit is 15 years. The maximum age limit is 22 years for freshers and 24 years for Ex-ITI category.
The upper age limit will be relaxable by three years for OBC category, five years for SC/ST category candidates and ten years for physically handicapped.
Stipend: Will be given as per rules.
Selection (Sub Category Numbers will be converted into 200 Marks )
Freshers Category – 10th Marks will be Converted to 200 Marks.
Ex-ITI Category – 10th Marks will be converted to 100 Marks and ITI Marks will be converted to 100 Marks. Total number will come out of 200.
Medical Laboratory Technician – Marks obtained in 12th (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) will be converted into 200 marks.
After converting the marks of three categories into 200 marks, those with more marks will be placed higher in the merit. This merit will be the basis of selection.

Application Fee – General Category candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs.100. Whereas SC, ST and women candidates do not have to pay any fee.
The duration of training has been fixed for one year for some trades and two years for others.
The employer shall not be bound to offer any employment to any trainee after the completion of training, nor shall the trainee be bound to accept any employment offered by the employer.
