New design cards and uniforms are being made for the staff of railway stations. The railways are also trying to give almost as many tickets as the number of seats available in the trains. A new post of station director has also been created. His focus was also on running the trains on time.

Railway Minister gave information in Lok Sabha

The Railway Minister was responding on behalf of the government after consideration of the grant demands of the railways in the Lok Sabha. India is becoming an exporter of rail coaches

  • Continuing his reply amid the uproar of the opposition, the Railway Minister described India as an emerging exporter of rail coaches.
  • He said that the locomotives manufactured in the rail factory located in Madhaura, Bihar will soon be exported to many countries. Train bogies and equipment are being exported to many countries including Saudi Arabia and France. Metro coaches made in India are sent to Australia.
  • Soon the rail wheels made in Tamil Nadu will also be exported. The Railway Minister also took cognizance of the concerns of the opposition members about the delay in trains and said that compliance with the time table is necessary.
  • He said that out of the total 68 divisions of the Railways, 49 have improved the time by 80 percent, while there are 12 divisions where trains are not late in 95 percent of the cases. Our effort is to bring further improvement in this.
  • He said that currently more than 13 thousand passenger trains are running. These include 4,111 mail and express trains, 3,313 passenger trains and 5,774 suburban trains.

Railways are completely self-reliant

Ashwini Vaishnav described the railways as self-reliant and said that after the Corona epidemic, the railways now meet its expenses from its own revenue. Gradually it is getting stronger. Revenue is increasing.

He said that in ten years, 34 thousand kilometers of rail tracks have been built and 50 thousand kilometers of tracks have been repaired. There has also been progress in infrastructure development. 12 thousand flyovers and underpasses have been built in the country. 14 hundred locomotives are being built every year, which is more than the combined total of America and Europe.
