Indian Railways Senior Citizen: Railway Minister Vaishnav said that it has been decided to install ramps in trains for senior citizens and disabled people.
Indian Railways Senior Citizen: Indian Railways takes care of every small and big facility of its passengers during the journey. In such a situation, it is going to provide great relief to senior citizens and disabled people to make the train journey more comfortable. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that recently Indian Railways has decided to build ramps in trains for the convenience of senior citizens who use wheelchairs. Releasing pictures of the design of the ramp to be made in trains, the Railway Minister said that it has been used at Chennai Railway Station.
Senior citizens will get convenience
Railway Minister Vaishnav said that the construction of these ramps in trains is going to provide a lot of convenience to senior citizens and disabled people. He said that a system is being worked out to fulfill the ‘wheelchair’ requirement of passengers while booking tickets. In such a situation, an alert can be prepared and sent to the concerned railway stations regarding keeping the ramp ready for the passengers.
Vande Bharat trains will start
The minister said that we will soon start using it in Vande Bharat Express Trains and later in all other trains.
The minister said the ramp can be easily installed on train doors and will be easy to use for wheelchair users due to its width and low gradient. Vaishnav also said that the response received from passengers during its testing was very positive and encouraging.
