Indian Railways has now started a unique initiative for the convenience of passengers. Now cash can be withdrawn even in a moving train. This facility has been started on trial mode for now. An ATM machine has been installed in the Panchavati Express running from Manmad to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).

Officials said that Central Railway (CR) has installed an automatic teller machine (ATM) in Mumbai-Manmad Panchvati Express on a trial basis. They said that the ATM provided by a private bank has been installed in the air-conditioned chair car coach of the daily service and it will be made available to the passengers soon.
Looks like we might have ATMs in Indian trains soon.

What other information was given about the ATM
According to railway officials, the ATM has been installed in the rear of the coach, which was earlier used as a temporary pantry. He said that a shutter door has also been installed to ensure security and access while the train is running. Officials further said that the necessary modifications in the coach were done at the Manmad Railway Workshop.

The Panchvati Express, which runs daily between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai and Manmad Junction in neighboring Nashik district, completes its one-way journey in about 4.35 hours. It is one of the popular trains on this route due to its convenient timing for intercity travel.
