Rain Alert: There will be heavy rains in many states till 30th September, know the weather condition of your city.

Rain Alert: The weather in Maharashtra will remain unpredictable for the next few days. Due to the impact of a low pressure area (LPA) formed in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall is expected in many parts of the state until September 30. Very heavy rainfall is expected across Konkan, including Mumbai, on September 27, 28, and 29.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Marathwada, Central Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa from September 26 to 30. Extremely heavy rainfall is also predicted in Konkan and Goa and the Ghat regions of Central Maharashtra on September 28.

According to the IMD, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely at most/many places in Vidarbha, with isolated heavy rainfall on September 26, 27, and October 2.

The weather department said, “Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely at many/few places in Central Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa from September 26 to October 2; and heavy rain at isolated places in Marathwada from September 26 to 29. Very heavy rain is expected in Marathwada on September 27 and 28, and in Central Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa on September 27 and 29. Extremely heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Konkan and Goa and the Ghat regions of Central Maharashtra on September 28.”

Thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds reaching 30-50 kmph are likely in Vidarbha during the next five days. Heavy rain (70 to 110 mm) has been recorded at isolated places in Vidarbha in the last 24 hours (till 8:30 am).

According to the IMD, isolated extremely heavy rainfall (more than 210 mm) is likely over Konkan and Goa and the Ghat areas of Central Maharashtra on September 28. Very heavy rainfall (120-200 mm) is likely over Marathwada on September 27 and 28, and isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Central Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa on September 27 and 29. The Meteorological Department and administration have appealed to the public to remain vigilant.

Delayed Monsoon Withdrawal

The Southwest Monsoon (Southwest Monsoon 2025) is not expected to withdraw from Maharashtra before October 5. The Meteorological Department stated that the monsoon withdrew from some more parts of Gujarat, all of Rajasthan, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, and the entire Western Himalayan region (Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand) today (September 26). The southwest monsoon withdrawal line now passes through Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, and Shahjahanpur.

The monsoon’s withdrawal from Maharashtra begins around October 5, while it withdraws from Mumbai by October 10.
