UP Weather Alert Today: Due to the formation of monsoon trough line, rain is going to continue in Uttar Pradesh till August 11. Today, on August 6, warning has been issued for thunder, heavy rain and lightning along with movement of clouds in many districts of eastern and western UP. Today, on Tuesday, an alert of moderate to heavy rain has been issued in 26 districts. There are flood-like conditions in many districts including Varanasi, Mirzapur, Badaun. The intensity of rain will increase with the further intensification of monsoon from August 7.

According to the UP Meteorological Department, a warning of moderate to heavy rain has been issued in the Terai areas and surrounding areas including Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Balrampur, Sitapur, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Deoria, Gorakhpur. Gonda, Shravasti, Bahraich, Balrampur, Jhansi, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Lalitpur, Shahjahanpur, Kushinagar, Hardoi, Maharajganj, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bijnor and Sant Kabir Nagar may receive good rain.
Light drizzle may occur in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh including Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Prayagraj. There may be rain accompanied by lightning and thunder in Lalitpur, Etawah, Mainpuri, Ayodhya, Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Mathura, Jhansi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Deoria, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Basti, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Bhadohi.
