Rainfall Update: There is a possibility of severe heat wave in the eastern and southern parts of the country for the next 5 days. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information. However, light rain is also expected in many areas in the next day or two. According to this, severe heat wave is expected to continue in some parts of West Bengal, Odisha and different areas of West Bengal for the next 5 days. IMD said, ‘There is a possibility of heat wave in isolated areas of Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and eastern Uttar Pradesh during the next five days from April 27 to 29. Heat wave may prevail in Western Uttar Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during April 28 to 30.

The Meteorological Department said that there may be rain in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad from 26 to 28 April. Light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning along with snowfall are expected in Himachal Pradesh on April 28 and 29. There are chances of sporadic rain and hailstorm in Uttarakhand till April 29. IMD has just predicted thunderstorm in western Rajasthan today.
Scattered rain forecast from 26 to 28 April
Scattered rainfall is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during April 27 to 28. IMD has said that from April 26 to 30, storm, lightning and strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour may occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Also, widespread light rain is expected. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in Sikkim on April 28. The Meteorological Department has predicted strong surface winds up to 35 kilometers per hour in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and South Rajasthan on April 26 and 27.
How is the weather in the capital Delhi?
If we talk about the national capital Delhi, the hottest day of the season was recorded here on Friday, when the mercury crossed 40 degrees Celsius for the first time. However, there were strong winds and light rain during the day. According to IMD, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.5 degrees Celsius, which is 1 degree above the season average. There was a sudden change in the weather in the evening and light rain occurred in some parts of Delhi. For Saturday, the weather office has predicted partly cloudy sky, thundershowers and light rain. Also, strong winds can blow at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 39 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
