Raksha Bandhan Free Bus Ride: If you are also going to tie Rakhi to your brothers on Raksha Bandhan, then this news is very important for you. Raksha Bandhan festival will be celebrated across the country on August 9. On this special occasion, many state governments have announced to provide free travel facility for women in government buses. In some states, this facility will be available for two days, while in some states women will be able to travel without ticket for three days.
Free travel for 3 days in UP
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation has given a special gift to women passengers. Women will be able to travel free of cost in all AC and non-AC buses of Roadways with one co-passenger (female or male) from 6 am on Friday, August 9 to 12 pm on Sunday, August 11. During this period, the Transport Corporation will operate 986 buses, while 50 additional buses will be kept in reserve.

The Uttarakhand government has also provided women the facility of free travel in ordinary roadways buses on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Women can avail this free facility on 9 August, the day of Rakshabandhan.

The Bihar government has kept the roadways journey free for women on the day of Raksha Bandhan. Bihar Transport said that women will be able to travel free of cost on all the routes of Patna and Muzaffarpur. Apart from this, this facility can also be availed in pink buses running in Patna.
In Rajasthan, women will be able to travel free on the day of Rakhi
The Rajasthan government has given free travel to women in all roadways buses for two days on Raksha Bandhan. However, this facility will be applicable only on travel within the borders of the state of Rajasthan.
