This work will be done under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). The hassle of paperwork will end with the new system and no woman who changes place after marriage will be deprived of her rights. This step will greatly benefit women in rural areas. Food and Logistics Department Principal Secretary Ranveer Prasad said that after trial, we have started a new system. Now a woman can transfer her unit (name) from her parents’ ration card to her husband’s ration card without any hassle. For this, she will not need to run around much. Let us know about five easy ways to get a ration card made-
1. Online Application
In most states, the facility of online application for ration card has started. You can apply through the website of the Food and Civil Supplies Department of your state. For example, go to the website of the Food Department of UP, fcs.up.gov.in.
- Now select the option of ‘Apply for New Ration Card’ on the homepage.
- Here enter the name of the head of the family, Aadhaar number, income and information of other members in the form.
- After this, scan and upload Aadhaar card, voter ID, income certificate, electricity / water bill and passport size photo.
- Submit the completely filled form and note down the reference number. This number will be used to check the application status. After verification of the documents, your ration card can be issued in 30-45 days.
2. Offline process of application
If you do not have internet facility, then you can apply offline by going to your nearest food department office or circle office. For this you-
- First of all take the ration card application form from the food department office or download it from the website.
- Fill in the information sought in this form like name of all family members, Aadhaar number and other necessary information.
- After this, submit Aadhaar card, voter ID, income certificate, residence proof (electricity/water bill) and 3 passport size photographs.
- Now your documents will be checked by the concerned office. If found correct, ration card can be received in 30-45 days.
3. Through e-Mitra or CSC Center
You can apply for ration card by visiting your nearest e-Mitra / Public Service Center or Common Service Center (CSC). For this, first of all-
- Go to CSC Center Go to the nearest CSC center in your area.
- Take Aadhar card, voter ID, income certificate, residence proof and passport size photo with you.
- Here the CSC employee will fill your information in the form in the prescribed format and scan the documents and upload them.
- Here you may have to pay a nominal fee of 20-50 rupees.
- Take the receipt after submitting the application. You can check the status related to the application with the egg number given on it.
4. Through mobile app
Many states have launched mobile apps for applying for ration card. Like ‘RTPS’ app in Bihar or ‘UP Ration Card’ app of Uttar Pradesh.
- First of all, you have to download the official Google app of the food department of your state from Play Store or iOS Store.
- Register: Register with mobile number and Aadhaar number.
- Now enter all the information in the ration card application form available in the app.
- Upload the scanned copy of the relevant documents like Aadhaar card, income certificate and other documents.
- After this, submit the form and keep the reference number safe.
- After the verification is complete, your ration card will be issued.
5. Through Gram Panchayat or Nagar Parishad
Application for ration card can be made through Gram Panchayat in rural areas and Nagar Parishad in urban areas. For this, first of all you have to-
- Contact the Gram Pradhan, Sarpanch or Nagar Palika / Nagar Panchayat office of your area.
- From here you can get the ration card application form.
- Submit family related information, Aadhar card, income certificate, residence proof and photo in the form.
- Certification: Get the documents certified from the Gram Pradhan or Nagar Parishad officer.
- Now submit the form and documents to the Food Department office or send it through the officer.
- After verification, your ration card can be issued. This method is more convenient for people living in rural areas.
