RBI New Governor Sanjay Malhotra: Sanjay Malhotra will be the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. The Union Cabinet approved his name as the new Governor on Monday. He will replace the current Governor Shaktikanta Das. He will take charge as the new Governor on Wednesday, December 11. He has been appointed for 3 years. Currently he is holding the post of Revenue Secretary.

Mr. Sanjay Malhotra is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1990 batch of Rajasthan cadre. He has done engineering in computer science from IIT Kanpur. He has done post graduation in public policy from Princeton University, USA.

Has extensive experience in finance and taxation

In his career spanning over 33 years, Sanjay Malhotra has made significant contributions in various fields including power, finance and taxation, IT, mining. Currently, he is Secretary (Revenue) in the Ministry of Finance. In his previous assignment, he held the post of Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He has extensive experience in finance and taxation in the state and central government.
