RBI has eased the rules for foreign investors. Now foreign portfolio investors i.e. FIIs will be able to invest in corporate bonds without any restrictions. This can increase foreign investment in India’s bond market. This decision has come into effect with immediate effect.

RBI has eased the rules for foreign investors. Now foreign portfolio investors i.e. FIIs will be able to invest in corporate bonds without any restrictions. This can increase foreign investment in India’s bond market. This decision has come into effect with immediate effect.

Till now there were two types of limits regarding this. The first was the short-term investment limit, under which investments could be made in bonds of less than 1 year. The second was the concentration limit, in which there was a limit on investing more money in a single company. Now both these limits have been removed.
