Relief News: 80 tons of oxygen left for India from Saudi port of Damam, Operation Oxygen Friendship begins

The government approached various countries amidst the medical oxygen crisis. Now Operation Oxygen Friendship has started.


Oxygen airlift is being brought from many countries. In this order, 80 tons of oxygen in 4 cryogenic tanks from the port of Damam, Saudi Arabia, left for India.

This batch will reach Mundra port soon. The batch is being led by the Adani Group. On the other hand, a batch of pipes used to make medical oxygen cylinders arrived at Kandla Port on Sunday itself. The vessel named MV Hi Nam 86 reached Kandla from Hazira Port.


4722.82 tonnes of steel pipe, 1389.47 MT steel bar, 892.326 MT jumbo bag and 170.535 project cargo landed in Kandla. Kandla Port spokesperson Omprakash Dadlani said that oxygen cylinders are made from these pipes. Some of these batches will be sent to Bhopal.
