Priya Saroj, a native of Karkhiyan village in Varanasi, has been active in the Samajwadi Party (SP) for many years. She became an MP by winning the Machhlishahr Lok Sabha constituency of Jaunpur district in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Priya first came into the public eye during the campaign for her father Toofani Saroj in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. She has a degree in Arts from Delhi University and a law degree from Amity University, Noida.
