Increase in honorarium allowances
Actually, till now the watchmen of Haryana used to get an honorarium of Rs 7,000, but after increasing it by Rs 4,000 by the state government, now they will get an honorarium of Rs 11,000. Chowkidars will get increased honorarium from November 1, 2023, that is, they will also get arrears from November to January. Apart from this, Chowkidars will now be given uniform allowance of Rs 4,000 per year and bi-cycle allowance of Rs 3,500 per three years.

Apart from this, the watchmen will get new cycles every five years. Rs 1000 will be given every year for sticks and batteries. In lieu of death registration, Rs 400 per month will be given instead of Rs 300. Rural chowkidars will be given a lump sum amount of Rs 2 lakh on retirement. There are about seven thousand chowkidars in the state, who will get the benefit of the changed rules.
