DA Hike Alert: Recently, another good news is coming from the Uttar Pradesh government after increasing the dearness allowance and dearness relief (DA & DR) of 27 lakh employees. Earlier, the dearness allowance of central employees was increased by the central government. Now approval has been given by the Tamil Nadu government to increase the DA of the state government employees. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has given approval to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the employees by four percent. This decision of the government will benefit 16 lakh employees.
Pensioners will also benefit
In the press release issued by the government, it was told that this step will put an additional burden of Rs 2,366.82 crore annually on the exchequer. Along with government employees, pensioners and family pensioners will also benefit from the government’s decision. Employees will get the increased amount of DA from 1 April 2023. Earlier the DA of government employees in Tamil Nadu was 38 percent, which has now increased to 42 percent. It was also said in the press release that in the coming days, according to the steps taken by the Center, the state government will also increase the DA.
Benefit of Rs 7536 annually
The minimum pay of government employees in Tamil Nadu is Rs 15,700 per month. If we calculate an increase of 4 percent on this, then the employee will get a monthly benefit of Rs.628. This benefit will be Rs 7,536 on an annual basis. Let us tell you that under the Seventh Pay Commission, the DA of central employees is increased twice a year in January and July. How much DA will increase is decided on the basis of inflation rate.
4 percent increase in DA in UP as well
Earlier, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has increased the DA of the employees by 4 percent. With this, DA and DR in UP has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. Employees in UP will get the benefit of increased DA from January 1, 2023. Apart from this, the central employees are waiting for the increase in DA from July 1. DA will be announced by the government in September or October. But it is to be implemented from 1 July. This time also there is an expectation of 4 percent increase in DA.
