Nabendu said, “Earlier, the minimum amount of insurance was Rs 1.5 lakh. It has been increased to Rs 2.5 lakh with retrospective effect from February 2016. The maximum sum insured was Rs 6 lakh earlier. It has been increased to Rs 6 lakh from April this year.
