SBI Clerk Recruitment: State Bank of India has released the notification for Clerk 2026. Through this recruitment, 1538 posts of Junior Associate will be filled. This recruitment has been done especially for the backlog vacancies of SC, ST and OBC categories. Eligible candidates can apply online from 7 August to 27 August 2026.
Applications will be accepted through the official website of SBI only. According to the notification issued for this recruitment, candidates will be able to apply for the vacancies of only one state or union territory in this recruitment.

There are a total of 1538 vacant posts in this special recruitment of SBI. Of these, 207 posts are for SC. 1219 posts are for ST and 112 posts are for OBC category. General category candidates cannot apply for this recruitment. State-wise, Gujarat has the maximum number of 289 posts, followed by 165 in Maharashtra, 134 in Madhya Pradesh, 133 in Jharkhand, 120 in Karnataka, 111 in Odisha and 106 in Rajasthan. There are 88 posts in Andhra Pradesh, 65 in Tamil Nadu, 55 in West Bengal, 42 in Jammu and Kashmir and 39 in Assam.

Graduation required, age 20 to 28 years
For this recruitment, the candidate must have a graduation degree in any subject from a recognized university. Candidates studying in the final year can also apply, but they will have to provide proof of completion of graduation by 31 December 2026. The age will be calculated on the basis of 1st April 2026. The age of the candidate should be minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years, i.e. the candidate should be born between 2 April 1998 to 1 April 2006. Reserved categories will get relaxation in maximum age limit as per SBI rules.
Selection will be done through prelims, mains and language exam.
There will be three stages for selection in SBI Clerk Recruitment. First there will be preliminary examination, followed by main examination and if necessary, local language proficiency test. The preliminary exam is likely to be held in September 2026, while the main exam may be held in October or November 2026. There will be objective questions in Prelims for a total of 100 marks and the duration of the exam will be 1 hour. If a wrong answer is given, one fourth of the prescribed marks of the question will be deducted. SBI has not prescribed minimum qualifying marks for different sections in Prelims. Prelims marks will only be used to shortlist candidates for the main examination.
