The short code is written at the beginning of the message which is associated with the bank. Such as SBIBNK, SBINB, SBIPSG and SBINO. The bank has warned that the code cannot be everything as the most important thing is to see whether the message is from a known source or not.

State Bank of India is the largest public sector bank in India. It has more than 42 crore customers across the country. Apart from providing banking facilities to its customers, State Bank also keeps on constantly telling about the security measures. Bank instructions are there to protect the customer from incidents like phishing, hacking or fraud. If a customer is a victim of fraud, then it not only causes loss to him but also causes a big loss to the bank. In such a situation, the bank tells its customers that if any message comes, then check it. Is that message sent by the bank or is it a fraudulent message?

Now it is up to the customers to decide at their discretion in the message of the bank and the message of fraud. But will all customers be able to differentiate between the two types of messages? Often you will see that messages of service, policy or account balance are sent from banks. In the midst of all this, many such messages come which are duped by luring or deceiving the customers.

Sensitive information is obtained from the customer by pretending to be an employee of the bank. To avoid this, SBI has recently told through a tweet how to differentiate between fake and real messages. How to check whether any message received on your phone is from bank or some fake gang. SBI has written in the tweet, Before letting an outsider into the house, check whether it is genuine or not.

Check message code

  • The best way to do this is to see what is written at the beginning of the message. The short code is written at the beginning of the message which is associated with the bank. Such as SBIBNK, SBINB, SBIPSG and SBINO. The bank has warned that the code cannot be everything as the most important thing is to see whether the message is from a known source or not. If the source is unknown to him then do not trust at all. Do not click on the link. Along with this, SBI SBI has given some tips from which the genuineness of the message can be ascertained.
  • If you want to open the bank’s website, then open it only by typing the URL. Type the URL of SBI in your browser and go to the portal
  • Never download any suspicious or unknown app from the Mobile App Store. Use Google Playstore, Apple App Store, Blackberry App World, Ovi Store, Windows Marketplace etc. to download the app. Do not download apps that offer you online banking facilities without any reason. Know the reality of the app first. If not, then check with the customer care of the bank, then download it

  • Be careful if an email comes from an unknown source and is asked to click on a link in it. That link may take you to a website. SBI never sends an email or message to its customers asking them to click on the link. The bank never asks for personal information, password, OTP from the customers. If such phone calls, messages come, then they can be part of fraud. Things like this can help you clean your bank account with internet banking
  • Never respond to such phone calls, mails or messages. If you receive any such message, email or phone call, report it immediately at report.phishing@sbi.co.in
