How to open online sbi savings account: State Bank of India (SBI) has started a new service for customers. With this, there will be no need to go to the bank branch to open a savings account. Actually, SBI has launched video KYC based account opening feature on its mobile banking app YONO. That is, if you want to open an account with SBI, then from Yono app, now you can open an account through video KYC sitting at home. Yono’s video works with the help of KYC feature, artificial intelligence and face recognition technology. It is a contactless and paperless process.
How to open account on YONO
According to the statement issued by SBI, to open an account in SBI through Video KYC with the help of Yono app, the customer will have to download the app and click on ‘New to SBI’ and select the ‘Insta Plus Savings Account’ option. After this, the Aadhaar details have to be entered here. Once the Aadhaar authentication is done, the customer has to enter personal details and video call schedule to complete the KYC process. After a video KYC, a customer’s savings account will be opened in SBI.
Online account opening facility is necessary
SBI chairman Dinesh Khara says that in the current era of epidemic, the facility of opening an online savings account is necessary. Video KYC facility is customer safety, financial security and less expensive. We believe that video KYC facility will prove to be a better step in the direction of Digital India. Also it will be simple for the customers as well. It will be more convenient for them to get their banking services digitally.
8 million downloads of YONO
According to SBI, the banking app YONO was launched in November 2017. It has had 8 crore downloads so far and has more than 37 million registered users. On YONO platform, SBI has tied up with more than 100 e-commerce companies in more than 20 categories.
