School Holiday: All schools up to class 12 will remain closed till January 20 in Prayagraj district of UP. The DM has decided to close all schools from January 16 to January 20. Holiday has been declared in schools in Prayagraj for Makar Sankranti and Mauni Amavasya baths. Schools of all boards from class 1 to 12 will remain closed from January 16 to January 20. DIOS PN Singh has issued this order on the instructions of DM Manish Kumar Verma. This decision has been taken due to overcrowding and traffic restrictions.

Schools across all boards will remain closed until January 20th.

An order issued by the District Education Officer states that in compliance with the District Magistrate’s order, in view of the crowds, traffic difficulties, and safety of students due to the Magh Mela’s main bathing festivals, Makar Sankranti and Mauni Amavasya, in Prayagraj, all secondary schools across all boards in the district will be closed for classes 1 to 12 from January 16, 2026, to January 20, 2026.

All schools in UP will remain closed on January 15th.

Schools across all boards in all districts of Uttar Pradesh will be closed on January 15th. The government has issued an order for this holiday due to Makar Sankranti. Due to the severe cold in several districts, including Gautam Buddha Nagar, many schools will remain closed until January 17th. Many private schools in Noida will offer online classes until January 17th.

Earlier, due to the fog and severe cold in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, all schools up to Class 8 were ordered closed until January 15th. According to Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar, all schools from nursery to Class 8 affiliated to CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, and other boards in the district will remain closed until January 15th.
