The Odisha government on Wednesday announced the closure of all schools in the state from April 18 to 20. Odisha government has taken this decision in view of the heat wave forecast by IMD i.e. India Meteorological Department. Let us tell you that the Meteorological Department has predicted the havoc of heatwave in Odisha and during this time the mercury is likely to cross 45 degrees.

According to an official statement, the School and Mass Education Department said the government has decided to close all schools, including government, government-aided and private, for three days in view of the prevailing summer conditions and rise in day temperatures. . According to IMD forecast, the temperature is likely to gradually rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius at many places during the next two days. The temperature is expected to cross 45 degrees Celsius at some places in Odisha between April 18 and 20.

Meteorologist Umashankar Das said Baripada town in Mayurbhanj district was the hottest place in the entire country with a temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. In a bulletin, IMD’s Bhubaneswar center said heat wave conditions were observed at some places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul and Boudh districts on Wednesday. The situation will continue.

The Meteorological Department’s statement said that hot and humid weather conditions will persist at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts. During this time, it has been advised not to allow children to leave their homes and all schools have been asked to strictly follow the instructions.
