School Holidays in April 2024: After a week or two of holidays, the new session starts in schools. However, there are also some holidays in April due to some local festivals, as a result of which many schools across the country will remain closed on those dates.

According to the calendar, Eid is on Thursday, but if the moon is not seen the night before, then the date of the festival will be extended to Friday, April 12. If this happens, students will get a long weekend break – April 12, 13, and 14.

Schools will also remain closed on 14th April (Sunday) due to Ambedkar Jayanti and 21st April (Sunday) due to Mahavir Jayanti. Apart from this, schools will also remain closed on 7th and 28th April (Sunday). In many states schools remain closed on Saturdays also.

Meanwhile, several schools will start summer vacations in May. As per the school calendar 2024 for Delhi, summer vacation will start on May 11 and end on June 30. However, the school teachers will be working from June 28 to June 30, 2024. In addition, the autumn break will be from October 9 to October 11, and the winter holiday is scheduled from January 1 to January 15, 2025. In 2024, schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed for more than 100 days. Summer vacation across schools in the state will take place for 41 days. It will commence on May 21 and continue till June 30.
