He said that we have decided to deploy state security forces and paramilitary forces in sensitive areas. Will deploy more security personnel in five special districts. The Chief Minister of the state said that we have decided to reopen the schools for classes 1 to 8 from 5th July.
Schools are closed since the first week of May
Let us tell you that for the last few days there is a very disturbed atmosphere in the state. Due to which the schools are closed since the first week of May. Caste violence broke out in Churachandpur on May 3 after tribal Kuki groups called for protests against the proposal to grant Scheduled Tribe status to the majority Meitei community. At least 118 people have been killed so far and around 40,000 people have been displaced. Thousands of people are in relief camps.
The CM said in a press conference on Monday that bunkers set up in hill and valley districts would be removed. At the same time, additional force is being deployed to provide security to the farmers of both Meitei and Kuki communities, so that agricultural activities can start.
