Decision Taken Due to Intense Heat and Heatwaves
According to an order issued by Rahul Pawar, the District Basic Education Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar, the operating hours have been revised for all schools in the district—including Council, aided private, and government schools, as well as all institutions affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, and other boards. In view of the intense heat and the prevalence of heatwaves, the district administration has taken a significant decision.
Classes to Run from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
The Basic Education Officer shared details regarding the issued order. He stated that, effective April 27, classes in all schools will now be conducted from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This arrangement will remain in force until further orders are issued. The administration has issued clear directives ensuring that this order is strictly adhered to.
This decision has been taken on the orders of the District Magistrate. Its primary objective is to safeguard the health of children from the severe heat and heatwaves. The temperature in the district has been rising continuously in recent days. Under these circumstances, keeping young children in school until the afternoon could be hazardous.
System Implemented Effectively
A copy of the order has been dispatched to the concerned officials—including the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, Additional District Magistrate, City Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (Sadar, Dadri, Jewar), District Inspector of Schools, and District Information Officer—as well as to all Block Education Officers and Principals, to ensure the effective implementation of this arrangement. Local newspapers have also been notified so that this information reaches the general public. The administration has further appealed to parents to take necessary precautions to protect their children from the heat and to ensure adherence to the new school timings.
