Schools in Bihar have been declared closed due to the increasing cold and cold wave. In Chhapra, all public and private schools have been closed for three days. School timings have also been changed in Patna.
Schools closed: The cold and dense fog in Bihar are affecting children’s education. Schools in Chhapra (Saran) have been closed until December 21st. School timings have also been changed in Patna. The cold is expected to increase across the state over the next two to three days. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert for dense fog on Friday in several districts, including Patna and Saran.
According to reports, all private and government schools and Anganwadi centers in Saran will remain closed until December 21st due to the cold wave. The district administration has also directed that hot mid-day meals be provided to children at Anganwadi centers from 12 noon to 2 pm.
However, activities related to Mission Daksh and board exams have been excluded from this order. As a precautionary measure for students appearing for board exams, their classes will be conducted between 10 am and 4 pm.
Meanwhile, due to the extreme cold conditions in Patna district, the District Magistrate (DM) has changed the timings of all private and government schools. Educational activities in schools and Anganwadi centers have been prohibited before 9 a.m. Classes will only be conducted between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. This order will be in effect from December 19th to 25th.
