To prevent SIM card misuse, the Department of Telecommunications has recently introduced a portal that allows any Aadhaar holder to check the SIM card issued in their name. The name of this portal is Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection (TAFCOP). This portal helps users to know how many SIM cards have been registered in the name of the same person. Not only this, with the help of this website those fake numbers can be blocked.

What is the process

Step 1: Visit TAFCOP portal – https://tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in/

Step 2: Make sure you have entered the correct address. You will then find an input field in the center of the homepage, and click on the “Get OTP” button

Step 3: After that, you will receive an OTP from DOT. Enter the OTP and click on “Verify” button

Step 4: After OTP verification, you will get a list of mobile numbers issued with your Aadhaar details

Step 5: Check the numbers carefully. If you see a number that is not in use, you can report it to the Department of Telecommunications from the portal itself

Step 6: To report a number, select the checkbox to the left of the number, and if you Click “This is not my number” if you do not remember purchasing. For numbers that you no longer need, click on the “Not Required” option

Step 7: Finally, click on the Report button
