According to media reports, the incident is of Manpur village under Sikandra police station area of Kanpur Dehat. It is being told that the marriage of the groom, a resident of Manpur village, was fixed on April 30 (Sunday) with the girl of Banwaripur village. On Sunday, the groom reached the bride’s house with his relatives and relatives, after which the bride’s family welcomed him and everything was going smoothly. The wedding begins with the ‘Varmala’ ceremony, after which the groom’s family presents the jewellery, clothes and other things bought for the bride in the wedding mandap.

However, the bride and her family were not happy with the ornaments given by the groom’s family. The bride’s family got so angry that they canceled the marriage. Tension increased after the marriage was canceled and the relatives of both the bride and groom reached the police station. The groom’s father alleges that the bride’s family has lodged a false complaint with the police demanding dowry. He also alleged that the bride’s family was not returning the jewelry and gifts taken by them.
