Summer Holidays: Cancel all other holidays to finish the syllabus! What does the Department of Education think? Know in detail

Private and government schools in West Bengal are finally opening on June 15 after a long summer break.

Summer Holidays WB: Private and government schools in West Bengal are finally opening on June 15 after a long summer vacation. Plans have already begun on how to fill the gap in continuing education for students. Several schools like South School are already discussing it. It is learned that schools will also interfere with weekend breaks to fill the syllabus, from shortening winter vacations. According to the sources, such steps are being taken to handle the practical examination of the board.

How will the syllabus be completed by school?

It is known that some schools in the city will not give holidays on weekends. Additional classes will be organized on these days. Some schools have already developed a regular routine for Saturday classes for classes IX-XII.

Some schools offer weekends off but may shorten winter vacations to make up for continuing education gaps due to summer vacations. School will open 10 days before the end of vacation.

Which schools will arrange weekend classes?

  • South City International will conduct additional classes on Saturdays for Class 6 and above students.
  • Ram Mohan Mission will conduct additional classes on second and fourth Saturdays for students from class 7 to class 11.
  • DPS New Town School plans to hold extra classes on Saturday.
  • Asian International School will also hold extra classes on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, BSS schools have started additional classes as per requirement. The principal said that since our classes have started since January, the education of the students of that school has not been affected much. Students of classes IX-XII, who required remedial lessons for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, were also taken into consideration.

The current situation of State-run schools

While private skuks have started to make good their own deficits. State run schools are still in business. As a rule, in these schools, around 220 days of offline classes are required in a year to take the exam covering the syllabus. So earlier the school education department issued a notice stating that after re-opening, schools will have to conduct extra classes to bridge the learning gap.

As this year’s secondary and higher secondary examinations are approaching, the school education department has said that special importance should be given to the syllabus. Preparations have already started. Like private schools, state schools may also follow the path of having extra classes on Saturdays.

To do list for teachers after vacation ended?

  • The Board of Secondary Education has issued guidelines to restore order in schools.
  • Teachers cannot leave the school without the permission of the Headmaster
  • Stop leaving school even during tiffin time
  • Before opening the school after such a long time, the surroundings of the school should be kept clean to avoid various mosquito borne diseases like dengue, malaria.
