Summer Vacations 2023: Schools closed in these states including UP, Bihar, MP due to scorching heat, know when they will open

Summer Vacations 2023: Due to the scorching heat, the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to extend the summer vacation of schools. Indicating no respite from the scorching heat in half of India, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather forecast for several districts including Odisha, Vidarbha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Scorching heat conditions are predicted in the states. Meanwhile, keeping in mind the safety of children, summer vacations of schools have already been extended in many states. Now the Madhya Pradesh government has issued instructions to increase it.

In fact, as per the order of School Education Department, Madhya Pradesh, summer vacations were declared in all government and private schools of the state till June 15, which has now been extended till June 30. In view of the scorching heat in Madhya Pradesh, the government has decided to extend the summer vacation keeping in mind the adverse effect on the health of the students. However, schools for children of class 6 to 12 will open from June 20.

School timing changed for students from 6th to 12th

The state government has extended the summer vacation for the children of class 1st to 5th till June 30, but the children of higher classes will have to come to school from June 20. Primary schools from class 1 to 5 will open on 1 July 2023. On the other hand, in view of the summer, the school timings of the students of class 6th to 12th have been changed. These students will have to go to school in the morning shift from 20 to 30 June. From July 1, 2023, all schools will operate according to the regular time table.

School closed in UP till June 26

The Uttar Pradesh government has also extended summer vacations in all the schools of the state due to the scorching heat. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a recent high-level meeting, had given instructions to the officials to extend the summer vacation in basic schools from June 15 to June 26 in view of the scorching heat. After this, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council has issued a notification to all the District Basic Education Officers saying that the council schools will remain closed till June 26 and will reopen on June 27.

Schools closed in Chhattisgarh too

Keeping in mind the scorching heat, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to extend the summer vacation of school children. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, all the schools will remain closed due to the scorching heat. Instructions have been given to keep all the schools closed till June 26.

School closed in Patna till June 24

Within the last 24 hours in Patna, 35 people have died due to heat. While 19 patients died in NMCH, 16 patients died in PMCH. In other districts of Bihar, 9 people have lost their lives due to heatstroke. Two people each have died in Begusarai, Sasaram and Nawada. Apart from this, one person each died in Bhojpur and Aurangabad. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heat alert till June 19. School holidays have also been extended due to the scorching heat. All schools will remain closed in Patna till June 24. Earlier the schools were to open on 19th June.
