Summer vacations 2024: Indians are going to visit these top 5 destinations, check the list before going

Long Weekend in June 2024: Summer vacations have started in most schools in the country. The temperature in North India is between 45 to 47 degrees and common people are troubled by the heat. Are you also planning to go to the mountains for a few days to get relief from the heat?

Travel Trends: More Indians than ever are now traveling by air within and outside the country. In the first three months of this year alone, 9.7 crore passengers traveled through Indian airports. This has been claimed in a report. The ‘Travel Trends 2024: Breaking Boundaries’ report released by MasterCard Economics Institute (MEI) gives a comprehensive view of the evolving scenario of the travel industry in a total of 74 markets, including 13 markets in the Asia-Pacific region. Most of the Indians are going to these top 5 destinations Amsterdam, Singapore, London, Frankfurt and Melbourne.

According to the report, by 2024, more Indians than ever will be traveling internationally due to a growing middle class and increased air capacity. In the first three months of the year alone, 9.7 crore passengers traveled through Indian airports. Just 10 years ago, it took an entire year to reach this figure. The report says domestic air passenger traffic grew 21 per cent above 2019 levels while international travel increased by four per cent.
Indian travelers are increasingly turning to major markets. Compared to 2019, there has been an increase of 53 percent in visits to Japan, 248 percent in visits to Vietnam and 59 percent in visits to America. This has been seen despite the US dollar remaining strong. Apart from this, Amsterdam, Singapore, London, Frankfurt and Melbourne are the top five destinations where Indian travelers are going this summer. This assessment has been presented in the report from flight booking data.

David Mann, Mastercard’s chief economist (Asia Pacific), said in a statement that consumers in the Asia Pacific region have a strong desire and intention to travel and are becoming more savvy about getting the best experiences from their trips. The Mastercard Economics Institute, introduced in 2020, analyzes macroeconomic trends from a consumer perspective.
