Surveen Chawla has been a victim of casting couch, the question was raised on the waist-chest size

Surveen told that when she was trying to make her career in films from television, she also faced casting couch. She started doubting herself when questions were raised on her appearance, weight, waist and chest size.

Casting couch is such a black stain in the world of showbiz, due to which the entire film industry is infamous. In recent times, many celebs have been vocal about the casting couch. Actress Surveen Chawla also spoke openly on this recently. In a conversation with RJ Siddhartha Kanan, she told that there is a lot of casting couch in the South Indian film industry.

Surveen told that when she was trying to make her career in films from television, she also faced casting couch. This happened to her during the meeting of her first film in Mumbai. She started doubting herself when questions were raised on her appearance, weight, waist and chest size. Surveen says that a woman cannot be defined by these parameters.

Changes happening now in South Film Industry

Further, Surveen, pointing to the South film industry, said that there used to be a lot of this, which has also changed to a great extent in a few years. The actress told that the initial days there were difficult for her, but now things like body shaming are changing, mental health and rejections are being talked about.

Surveen Chawla made her acting debut with the serial Somewhere To Hoga. She has been a part of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kajal and 24 serials. In 2008, she entered films with the Kannada movie Paramesha Panwala. In Bollywood, Surveen has worked in Hum Tum Shabana, Ugly, Hate Story 2, Parched, Short Movie Chhuri. Surveen also had an important role in Sacred Games (2019). The actress is soon going to be seen in the Decapled web show with R Madhavan.
