Tata Motors Cuts EV Prices: Leading car maker Tata Motors has announced to reduce the prices of its Nexon and Tiago EV by Rs 1,20,000. Tata has reduced the prices due to a slight decline in the prices of battery cells used in the manufacturing of cars. Let us tell you that the company has announced a reduction in the price of Nexon and Tiago EV only, whereas there has been no change in the price of the recently launched Punch EV.
After the price cut, Tata Tiago EV will start at Rs 7.99 lakh in India. Now the starting price of Nexon EV is Rs 14.49 lakh, while the price of long range Nexon EV starts from Rs 16.99 lakh.
Speaking on this price cut, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, said in a press release, “Battery cost is a major part of the total cost of an EV. Battery cell prices have moderated in recent times and considering the potential shortage in the near future, we have chosen to actively pass on the benefits directly to customers.
