TCS chief’s big statement regarding layoffs and work in IT company, see full details inside

IT company TCS said in a statement that there is no plan to reduce recruitment as of now. Along with this, TCS chief K Krittivasan said that appointments may have to be expedited.

TCS Company: TCS chief K Kritivasan, the country’s largest IT company, has clearly denied any cut in recruitment. Along with this, Kritivasan also said that employees should come to the office and work only because working from home is not the right way to move forward for both the individual and the organization.

There will be a ban on working from home

There is news of layoffs from many tech companies including startups across the world. In January 2024, about 30 thousand people were laid off from their jobs. On the other hand, K Kritivasan, head of information technology company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), on Tuesday denied any cut in appointments. TCS chief said there is no plan for layoffs. Along with this, according to demand, appointments may have to be expedited. Kritivasan also said that employees should come to the office and work only because working from home is not the right way to move ahead for both the individual and the organization.

No intention to cut recruitment

NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies), the apex body of information technology companies, said last week that the industry created only 60,000 jobs in the financial year 2023-24. With this the number of employees increased to 54.3 lakh. TCS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K Krittivasan said at the NASSCOM session here, there are signs of a boom in the economy. We need more people for more work. In fact, we have no intention of reducing our hiring plans and will continue to hire employees the same way we have been doing so. We will have to change the recruitment phase, but there will definitely be no cuts in our recruitment plans. More than six lakh people are employed in TCS.

Important lessons can be learned by watching seniors at work.

The TCS chief said important lessons are learned from observing colleagues and superiors at work and such lessons cannot be taught if people work from home. He said, “I believe that work from home/hybrid model is not the right way forward for both individuals and organizations. As an organization, we value collaboration and camaraderie and this cannot be achieved through Zoom calls or other online mediums.
